Comestible Archiving is a category of food design I have created to describe the food-based archival work I have developed over the years in my practice. The ephemeral nature of this archival work allows one to revisit sensory memories of the past, recontextualizing the joy and grief that comes with nuances of time and ecological change. While the methods I use to archive the emotional seasons of humanity and the environmental seasons of the more-than-human world have existed for centuries in indigenous communities, presenting and documenting these methods as a form of food-based sociology is a newer approach in the fields of comestible art and design. Some of my research from this work can be found here.
